A few weeks ago, in my newsletter, I announced a contest based on my blog post, “Customize slide objects to the extreme.” With a great prize — the winner would get a choice of one of my two $97 products.

What, you aren’t a subscriber? You can subscribe here. Subscribers sometimes get special offers like this one.

We received some beautiful and creative entries and I wanted to show you some of them. I added the creators’ comments where I thought they would be useful to you. I couldn’t pick one winner, so I chose 3! Congratulations to them and everyone who submitted an entry.

“Here’s my slide – developed for landfill operator training.

“Thanks for all you do for us PowerPointers! I don’t always have time to read your newsletters, but I save them for when life isn’t so crazy. I always find something I can use!” – Nancy Ellefson

This entry is from PowerPonit MVP Jean-Pierre Forestier. One hallmark of MVPs is that they are always teaching, so he showed the evolution of his puzzle shape. He has a tutorial on YouTube (in French) that shows how to use this shape to animate unhiding a puzzle, piece by piece. Thanks, Jean-Pierre!

WINNER! “I have attached one slide from a presentation I did for a training class.  I made most of it…I think the meat, service bell, trash can, and store logo/signs are the only graphics I didn’t design using PowerPoint shapes.  I work for an independent grocery store chain in NW Ohio.  I mimicked the meat department in one of our stores.” – Lori Weisgerber

WINNER! Dmitri Roman submitted this beautiful entry and even animated it. I show the animation below, along with links to the animation and tutorial.

WINNER! “The 2 graphic versions were created using both shapes and insert Clip Art, but mostly shapes. Using the 3D rectangle shapes are fun and challenging to get the perspective. The graphics I built in PowerPoint, I originally used in Captivate to create an interactive graphic on our website. I did use a version of the graphic in a presentation about our training development tools.” – Staci Gilbert
